FORMER CALIFORNIA PUSH TRUCK DRIVER CHUCK BURT "PACE TRUCK CHUCK" IS HONORED AT PLACERVILLE SPEEDWAY..

The most awesome thing happened to me last night. We were at Placerville Speedway for the final points race of the GSC season. At the finish of the Dash after the interview with the winner, I pulled onto the track and stopped at the start/finish line as usual to wait for the signal to start the cars for the B Main. Instead of that command, the infield announcer came over and asked me to get out of the truck. I assumed that they were killing some time and he wanted to interview me (happens occasionally but he usually just sticks the mic in the cab). They then presented me with a 3 foot trophy complete with a sprint car and a Ford pickup on top.

The inscription reads:"PaceTruck" Chuck Burt For your dedication and professional approach to the Golden State Series, pacing the field for over 15 years. The teams, drivers and fans thank you for your true love of the sport and helping make the Golden State series the "Best in the West"

To say that I was surprised and humbled would be an understatement. For once in my life, I was almost speechless. After the races, I have never had so many fans stop by to say hello, congratulate me and thank me. I will remember this for a long time.
